Objective: Design the core mechanics and gameplay loop for a short, action-adventure RPG built in an HTML format, focused on exploration, combat, item collection, and progression. The experience should feel rewarding, balanced, and highly interactive within a timeframe of approximately one hour of focused gameplay.

Core Gameplay Focus: Dynamic interaction between player movement, combat, environmental puzzle-solving, inventory management, and resource acquisition. Emphasize the feeling of discovery and tangible equipment upgrades.

Mechanics & Systems Requirements:
1. Player State & Visuals:

Character Representation: The game must feature visual feedback for the player character that dynamically changes based on their current equipment (e.g., displaying different weapons, walking animations reflecting stamina/movement style, and explicit damage indicators).
Health System: Health must be tracked visually using shapes or symbols (e.g., hearts). Each shape must represent two points of health. The player starts with 3 containers and must achieve a total of 5 containers through gameplay.
2. Combat & Progression:

Weapon Evolution: The player begins with a primary weapon. There must be exactly two distinct upgrades available for this main weapon, which significantly alter its abilities (damage type, attack speed, or range).
Ranged Discovery: A ranged weapon system must be introduced and discoverable only after the player reaches the halfway point of the game's progression (mid-game discovery).
3. Inventory & Economy:

Inventory System: Implement a functional inventory where players can collect and manage items. The player must acquire at least five distinct accessory or consumable items through exploration, combat, or purchases.
Money System: A currency system is required. Players earn money through pickups and complete objectives. This money is used to purchase items from an in-world item shop.
4. Audio & Visual Feedback (Polish):

Sound Design: Implement distinct sound effects for all major actions: subtle walking/movement sounds, weapon attacks, taking damage, successful pickups, and interaction with the item shop.
Particle Effects: Utilize particle effects judiciously to enhance gameplay moments (e.g., impact effects during combat, collecting items, or showing status changes).
5. Save System:

Save Points: Implement an in-world save system, allowing the player to mark specific locations as save points. This should provide safe checkpoints for progress.
Design Mandate:
The final design must prioritize balanced gameplay. The progression curve (from 3 health to 5 health, and through two weapon upgrades) must feel earned, engaging, and proportional to the challenges presented in the environment. Ensure that the combination of exploration, combat, and inventory management creates a cohesive and fun action-adventure experience suitable for a one-hour session.
